About Him
I recently separated after 36 years of marraige and re-located down the West Coast from Table View to the small town of Velddrif , where I bought a beautiful apartment over looking the Berg River . I have 2 beautiful daughters who left home years ago to pursue their careers after university . I was born and grew up in Tamboerskloof , Cape Town . I am a white/caucasion straight male , 1,83cm ( 6 ft ) , in height , 85 kg , with blue eyes , dark brown hair slowly going grey .I am a Christian , and conservative . I am a retired business executive ,and a historian . I love and am very passionate about animals , nature and history . I collect antiques , coins , military figurines , and military memorabilia ( swords , old guns , medals etc, ) . I have a book collection of over 1,000 books . I founded and run 4 Historical Societies / Clubs that are still going strong after 30 years . I am recognised Internationally as an authority on Napoleon 1 and the Napoleonic Period . I have taught and lectured at schools , universities and many other societies and clubs over the years . I like old buildings , architecture , castles , and museums . I toured South Africa extensively on business for 15 years including quarterly visits to Windhoek in the early 90`s . I have toured overseas on a number of occassions and love France . Unfortunately I have never learn`t to speak French ? I am honest , intelligent , have a great sense of humour , always clean and well groomed , classy and enjoy life ! A born leader who always tries to be fair . I`m fully bilingual with English and Afrikaans . I love watching movies , reading and listening to certain music . Also nothing like a good braai . Although up to date with world news/events , I am old school with a lot of other modern things that don`t interest me . A little bit eccentric in a nice way ?
